Location for your Fan

Perhaps you've already got a great spot all picked out for where you want to install your outdoor ceiling fan. It may be on your porch's overhead roof, in a gazebo or an outdoor sunroom. Depending on the spot you choose, you'll want to keep some considerations in mind.

One consideration you need to make with location is the height the fan will be at. It's generally not a good idea to place a fan hanging low where it could be dangerous to people underneath. Some fans may hang lower than others, so keep this in mind. Also, hanging the fan too high above people's heads can cause a different issue. In these circumstances, the fan's air circulation and breezes won't be as effective. Luckily, there are special kits available that you can use including downrods to make sure the fan hangs at the best height for your area.

And another very important consideration is will the fan look good with its style and finish in the area you are installing it. Fans are available in many different looks so carefully consider your specific area and how the fan will look when installed there.
